Why the emphasis on nutrition?

Your nutrition is 90% of what makes you healthy or diseased. Your nutrition is medicine. Poor nutrition will hold you back...good nutrition will propel you forward.

Whether you want to gain muscle, lose fat, pursue a healthy lifestyle or compete at a high level of sport, the most important factor is almost always nutrition. Good nutrition will help you keep or build muscle and help you shed fat. It improves nearly every measurable health marker. It drastically improves recovery and mood so you feel like moving and living an active life.

Why such emphasis on nutrition? Because our food choices have become a problem. There is more food sold in our grocery stores that will harm us than there is food that will nourish us and keep us strong. Packaged, processed and fast food has become so convenient and easy to grab. That's why it's important to make conscious decisions about what you put in your body.

Real food is essential and label reading is a must. Be informed about food additives such as modified food starch, hydrolyzed protein, natural flavorings, hydrogenized oils...just to name a few. These are toxic to our bodies and years of ingestion will most likely manifest as disease, most likely starting from inflammation.

Food companies are not going to tell you the bad things they do to package food. They are counting on you not reading or caring. Be proactive in your food choices. Take your food seriously now and avoid disease down the road. If you're going to live long, you want to live healthy!
